A Journey of Learning and Empowerment

In the heart of Delhi, amidst the contrasts of opulent Khan Market and humble servant quarters, Manzil was born from a simple yet profound idea: learning thrives in shared experiences. Co-founded 25 years ago by Ravi Gulati, his mother, and her friend, Manzil began as a small tutoring effort when two boys sought help with math. What started with addressing basic academic gaps evolved into a vibrant, cross-age learning community where students became teachers, and knowledge flowed both ways. Today, Manzil is home to over 250 learners and educators, united in their quest for meaningful, self-driven learning.

With extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and youth from low-income backgrounds, Ravi Gulati has nurtured this extraordinary community while also engaging with young changemakers across social issues. Beyond Manzil, he co-founded three other non-profits: ComMutiny-The Youth Collective, Safe in India Foundation (focusing on auto manufacturing safety), and Creatnet Education, which supports the development of over 1,000 Delhi Government School Principals to enhance public education.

A graduate of SRCC and IIM Ahmedabad, Ravi Gulati’s journey exemplifies “the road less traveled.” After a brief corporate stint in Canada, he returned to India to dedicate his life to fostering learning, leadership, and social impact.
