Why We Do It
Why We Do It
If every journey has a first step, we urge you to take it.
We liken the influence of Manzil to the effect of a stone thrown in a pond. When a pebble hits a still pond, the waves travel outward in circles larger and larger in size. If Manzil is the pebble, our students are the waves, carrying outward the sense of responsibility, curiosity and drive they imbibe at Manzil. An essential goal at Manzil is enabling students to be learning entrepreneurs and hone the skills needed to fulfill their artistic, social and entrepreneurial aspirations. But beyond the desire to improve the self is the desire to improve their larger communities. And so, these circles of influence extend to our students’ families, neighbourhoods, villages, country, and the world.
We believe that our efforts at Manzil work because they strike a balance between the intellectual, social and emotional development of the youth. Instead of moulding young people to fit into available brackets presented by society, Manzil attempts to celebrate the uniqueness of each student. Young people are offered the freedom to explore their interests and identify their goals. As opposed to materialistic values, Manzil offers a space based on human values where young people find ways of enhancing their own well-being as well as the well-being of their communities. In a society experiencing alienation, Manzil endeavors to offer social connections and harmony through an environment of optimism, positive role models and supportive peers.
